Top Ten Dissemination Mistakes in Organizational Change
This year’s All-Grantee Workshop will help build capacity for such translation while also elucidating some dissemination- and implementation-related challenges and formulating potential solutions to these challenges. To ensure that the session is as effective as possible, however, we need to request a bit of background work on your part.
In his article, Dearing (2009) set forth his Top Ten Dissemination Mistakes in Organizational Change and proposed a few solutions. During the upcoming workshop, we intend to expand on this initial work, assembling this body of investigators to discuss how these mistakes specifically apply to PHSSR and brainstorming additional solutions for the field and beyond. This will be accomplished through both plenary and small-group discussions.
To this end, we ask that you review the Dearing-identified “mistakes” in the accompanying survey and select the three that most interest you. Your interest could emerge from your own previous experiences with the issue in question, from curiosity about how others have approached it, or from a sense that you can bring a particular perspective or insight to bear on developing a solution, regardless of whether you have fallen victim to the mistake itself.
