Dr. Keeling has conducted research in many areas of Public Health Services and Systems Research (PHSSR) under the mentorship of his advisor Dr. Jacqueline Merrill. These projects include studying the relationship between PH statute modernization and PH system performance, developing a taxonomy of PH work, and comparing the organizational networks of local health departments. His research interests include development, evaluation, and organization of public health policy and law using informatics tools and methods such as network analysis and natural language processing.
